The Gloucester Economic Development and Industrial Corporation is a public corporation established in 1977 in accordance with Chapter 121c of the Massachusetts General Law.

The EDIC is responsible for promoting economic development in Gloucester by attracting new industries and expanding the industrial capacity of the city.  It is governed by a sevenmember Board of Directors.

The mission of the Gloucester EDIC is to bring industry and jobs into the city of Gloucester. Therefore, land is priced competitively to encourage high quality development.
